How do you commit instead of submitting to the status quo when it comes to reaching your goals?

You do that by dialing into your most deepest meaningful intention. Getting to the core of your intention requires contemplation, stillness, and honesty. It means assessing your motives and your motivation meter. By that, I mean you must ask and answer your why. Why are you going after your goal or dream? What is at stake? Is it for personal gratification, to benefit others or a combination of both? After you have that answer, you must determine how badly you want to overcome the hurdle that is standing in the way of your intention. Do you have or can you acquire the inner strength to persevere when you are tired, distracted or challenged in any way? There is a fine line between committing to your goal and submitting to the status quo. The tips below will help you stay committed, devoted, and determined to reach your goals.

3 tips to strengthen your motivation muscle.

Assess the situation objectively: What is your starting point? What does the destination look like? How will you, or your situation be different?

Small to Big: You would not attempt to lift 50lbs before you can lift 25lb. Failure would quickly de-motivate you to continue. Instead, a better approach would be to break up the goal into manageable steps.

Hold Yourself Accountable: Measure your progress. What can you measure that gives you an indication that that you are succeeding in reaching your goal? If you are trying to lose weight or increase business sales, what can you measure consistently that would give you assurance that you are getting closer to your desired goal? KPI (key point indicators) are a means of doing just that. For example, if you want to lose weight, you must weigh yourself on a consistent basis and compare it to where you started. If you want to increase sales of your product you should measure the number of sales calls required to complete a sale. That would tell you how much effort you need to expend to reach your sales goals.
